Coconut coir is ideal for the worm bedding used in vermicomposting. It is Absorbent and high in carbon, this 1.4 pound coconut coir brick provides approximately 8 dry quarts of bedding. Perfect for use with your worm farm or mixed with potting soil.
Coconut coir also has excellent moisture retention, it can hold 8-9 times its weight in water. Coconut coir is free of seeds, weeds, and other particles, it resists bacteria, mold, and fungal growth. It ensures good drainage in potting mixes, preventing root rot while encouraging strong and early root growth . Coconut coirs excellent aeration due to high air-filled porosity and pore space make it a wise choice for use as worm farm bedding. The ability coconut coir has to hold and release nutrients over extended periods makes it a perfect medium for potting soils.
